Summer Break is here!!!!!

Well Actually school has been out since last Wednesday, but I have not had time to get on here. The students ended Wednesday, Teachers last day was Thursday, and my first of 4 football camps started on Friday. Yeah, the Inagural No Ego Linemen camp came and went over the weekend. It was a great 2 days of linemen workouts in full pads. Coach Art Kehoe, long time Miami University and now in the UFL, was the main instructor for offensive run blocking and it was great to work with him. Not only do the kids learn, but the coaches also learn new drills and other techniques working with each other. It was a great first camp hosted by Caoch Baz. If you want to see pictures he is going to be putting them on his web site, www.caochbazcamp.com ....

Today started our first day of summer workouts since exams have finished. we had a good turn out in the morning 7am session. Everyone who works or has summer schools is working out at 5pm. I think we had 49 of our 70 guys in the morning so it is a little over 50 - 50 split between the two work out sessions. These are the most important workouts of the season, guys getting their bodies in shape so they can make the long hull of the season. The better shape they are i the better chance of not getting hurt and missing any part of the season. The guys really worked hard and seem to push one another very well. We also hada few graduates in working out that are going on to the next level to play ball. It is always great to ahve them around. Well got to go get dinner, hope everyone is doing fine and hopefully I will ahve some pictures from The Ohio State University Football camp that I fly to on Wednesday. See you when I get back!!! GO BUCKS!!!

School Year coming to an End

Well, the last day of regular classes has come to an end and all we have left are 3 days of exams. It is that time of year to enjoy our family time together while watching those beautiful Florida Sunsets. The photo above is a typical sunset out over the Gulf of Mexico. There's nothing that compares to going out to Captain Cons and having dinner and watching the sunset with your lovely wife. It is so relaxing and beautiful. Usually the dolphins will be jumping around and playing in the water. It is a great time. I am looking forward to many relaxing days coming up this summer.

26th Wedding Anniversary

This past Friday, May 29th, 2009 My lovely wife and I celebrated our 26th Wedding Anniversary together. It just seems like just yesterday that I met this beautiful lady. I knew from the start that she was the one for me, but what I did not know was how long she would put up with me. Well it turns out that things are still going strong after 4 years of dating and 26 years of marriage. We have raised 2 lovely children Jessica is 23 and Ryan is 20.

We spend the night out on the town after having dinner at the Melting Pot. It was a great night together and as it should be after spending 30 wonderful years together.

My only hope is that we have many more years together and that my own children have the great success that I have had with finding their soul mate.

I Love you Trish!!!!

All Hogs Signed and Accounted For!!!!

I have had the great privledge to coach at Fort Myers High School for the last 22 seasons. This year I experienced two first in my career. I graduated my whole offensive line and all 6 are moving on to the next level. John Kohlhauf (T.E.) will be going to Harvard, Emory Mandala (O.T.) will be going to Florida State, Luke Gogerty (C) will be going to JohnCarroll University in the great state of OHIO, Mac Wallace will be going to Heidleberg College, also in the great state of OHIO, Wisley Desire (O.T.) and Dominic Basil (O.G.) will both be attending and playing at Jacksonville University here in Florida. All 6 of these great kids have bright futures ahead of them and I wish them only the best. Now that they will finally be gettiing some good coaching, I hope they will all reach their potential and enjoy their College days.

2009 Ft. Myers H.S. Booster Club Golf Tournament

Well, as you can tell from the team leader board that Team Weekley did not fare to well. We finished +1 for the day, which was dead last in the gross scoring. But we had a great day and a lot of fun together. When you consider that we were all 20+ handicappers, +1 isn't that bad. I guess the PGA tour was no worry about any of us challenging their records.
Our team's stud player Van "Muscle Man" Davis shows us were not to hit our ball. It seems as though our stud went a little left off of his target.

The Players Championship

This past weekend I went to my first PGA event. It was a very cool experience. I attended the PGA Players Championship with Coach Jimmy Roberts and had a great time. The only thing I did not like was, I could not take my camera on to the Course property. I could have had some awesome photos to share, but could not take pictures or carry a cell phone. I don't care about the Cell phone, because I refuse to carry one anyhow, but a camera would have been great. Well I am back in Fort Myers and back to work. Spring football is still going on and the kids are starting to pick up what we are teaching them. we are a very young team this year, but it is a very fun group to coach. We have a lot of growing up to do, so we can become a good team, but I think that will come with time. This summer's off season will be very important to their growth as football players. I am scheduled to work the Ohio State Football camp this summer and will also be taking my linemen to "Down and Dirty Camp" at Stetson University. We also have one linemen camp locally run by Coach Basil, so between those camps hopefully my linemen will become better players and jell together as a unit. Well enough, I am going to go and catch some shut eye, it has been a very long week and it is only Wednesday, so I need to go rest up. Take care and hope to be back on soon with some football updates.

Spring Football

Well we started spring football practices today. We had approximately 110 come to the 1st day of tryouts. Out of the 110, we probably have 20 football players who are ready for the varsity level. So we have a lot of work to do. We will spend today and the next two days in shorts and helmets, then Thursday afternoon we will find out who can play football when the pads go on. It seems to be a good group of kids. They worked hard today, so if they can put that kind of effort in every day they should improve a lot. Hopefully we will be able to make a good team of this group of guys.
